A worksheet and presentation to introduce students to the work of Lotte Reiniger and silhouette animation.
Made for Level 2 students but easily adjustable to lower year learners or level 3 students.
I use this teaching knowledge a UAL course but is suitable for other media qualifications or lessons as well as art lessons.
The lesson is used as a precursor to a practical activity making silhouette animation.
Using these resources I have had 100% pass rates in the level 2 unit 8 exam since implementation. This includes merits and distinctions. It is best to support this units teaching with weekly testing (I use Kahoot).
Included you will find a Scheme of Work (including aims and objectives) for teaching towards the Unit 8 exam. The scheme covers every area needed to be taught for the unit 8 exam.
Alongside the scheme you will also have handouts for each relevant session as well as any additional resources (some sessions involve tasks and student presentations where handouts are not utilised). Furthermore there will be links to Prezis to accompany teaching relevant sessions. You are free to edit all handouts and make a copy of each Prezi so that you can modify them to suit your needs.
The scheme will take you throughout the Autumn term and prepare your students for examinations in January. This can be adjusted if only taking the summer examinations.
There is time planned for a mock exam the week before half term and one before the Christmas break as well as time to complete extra revision/cram sessions on identified weak areas.
A custom mock exam can be found in my unit 1 resource pack for the half term mock. It is recommended past papers are used in the final mock exam.
The scheme works through every topic that is stated in the 2013 Creative Digital Media Production BTEC Specification.
Preferably requires centres to have access to Photoshop.
Each Lesson is timed to last 1.5 hours but can be adjusted accordingly.
This pack contains a scheme of work allowing the delivery of the digital editing unit found on the BTEC NQF Creative Digital Media Production Specification.
In the pack you will find...
A full and detailed scheme of work for delivering three lessons a week (this can be adjusted as neccessary)
Prezis for teaching the theory element of the course
Worksheets to be completed alongside theory elements
Powerpoints for developing practical activities directly linked to the theory knowledge being developed.
Three assessments that have all passed BTEC Verification.
Pre-Production Paperwork forms.
As well as this the scheme and assignments allow you to cover multple other criterias for Unit 3 Digital Moving Image Production, Unit 12 Digital Audio Editing and Unit 2 Planning and Pitching a Digital Media Product. If you wish you can also cover the entirety of Unit 2 with this pack.
It is recommended that you have covered the basics of visual and audio codes before teaching this pack.
Module is designed to be run throughout the second and third terms but can be adjusted.
